maagdenburg, germany - Tech billionaire Elon Musk criticized German Chancellor Scholz after the recent attack on a Christmas market in Maagdenburg.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has expressed his reaction to the attack on the Christmas market in Maagdenburg. Musk wrote on 'X' on Friday evening: "Scholz must resign immediately". Musk called Chancellor Scholz an "incompetent fool".

The Chancellor himself wrote on X: "My thoughts are with the victims and their families. We stand by your side. My gratitude goes to the dedicated rescue workers in these anxious hours."

Friday morning, the world's richest man already intervened in the German election campaign. Musk tweeted on 'X': "Only the AfD can save Germany." There was a link to a tweet from an AfD influencer. German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach responded immediately. He called Musk's action "undignified and problematic".

Lauterbach is one of the most active X users in German politics. Lauterbach told BILD: "It is very worrying how Platform X, which I myself use intensively, is increasingly being used to spread Mr. Musk's political views and goals."

Chancellor Olaf Scholz clearly has a different opinion. He also commented on the statement. "We have freedom of speech. This also applies to multi-billionaires," he said during a press conference in Berlin. "That freedom of speech also means that you can say things that are not correct and do not contain good political advice," continued the Chancellor.
