Electricity thief disrupts tram traffic Brussels

World July 8, 2018 18:39

brussels - Part of the tram traffic in Brussels has stalled because someone tried to connect a cable to the electricity system of the overhead contact line, reports Bruzz.

Lines 3, 4, 82 and 51 do not drive, confirms a spokesman Françoise Ledune of the Company for the Intermunicipal Transport in Brussels (STIB). The outage lasts a few hours and replacement transport has been used.

STIB declares that the cable was hung from the electricity system at the entrance to the Constitution Tunnel. 'Because of the weight of that cable, a pipe came loose when a tram passed,' said the spokesperson. The overhead line would have come loose.
