E-bracelet for Mecca pilgrims

- Muslims go to Mecca on pilgrimage this year, get an electronic bracelet bearing personal and medical data. The local government hopes to get a better grip on the huge crowds that the annual pilgrimage, called the hajj, like to make.

In 2015, more than 750 people from oppression when panic struck in a crowd. Another 900 people were injured.

The new bracelets will be personal information such as passport number of the carrier, but also important medical information such as blood type. In addition, each bracelet contains a GPS chip so that missing persons can be easily found.
