Dutchman (75) convicted in Nepal after having sex with minors

- A Dutch man of 75 years in Nepal sentenced to a prison sentence of eight years for sexual abuse of two underage boys. This is what the Public Prosecution Service (OM) reports on Thursday.

The man was arrested in November 2017. Against him, eleven years in prison had been demanded for the abuse of four boys.

The Dutch National Public Prosecutor is conducting an investigation into the case under the direction of a public prosecutor. In the investigation, a 47-year-old man was arrested in South Holland in November. Research was also done at four locations.

According to the Public Prosecution Service, data carriers were seized during the searches. These are being investigated for the presence of child pornographic material. Tickets and passports were also confiscated. In the meantime, several men are suspected of making, having and distributing child pornography in the Netherlands. The research is still in full swing.

The research is being carried out in collaboration with the Nepalese police and a Nepalese aid organization that has ties with Terre des Hommes.

In June, a Dutch man was arrested in Nepal on suspicion of abuse.
