A Dutch man, identified as Peter, was kidnapped in Camaçari, Bahia, Brazil and later rescued by heavily armed police units. The criminals demanded a ransom but released him before any money was paid.

Peter, who is said to be an artist, was released in the afternoon hours after being kidnapped, near his own residence in Barra de Pojuca.

He was found with cuts on his arms, blood dripping from his left ear, and bruising on his wrists, indicating he was tightly bound.

Speaking fluent Portuguese, Peter expressed his gratitude to those involved in his rescue, stating, 'I was very scared, but relieved to be released.'

The kidnapping took place in Barra de Pojuca, a neighborhood in Camaçari, Bahia. Peter was immediately attended to by police and military units upon his release.

The kidnappers demanded a ransom of about 25,000 euros but it was never paid. They sent threatening messages and a photo of Peter with a gun to his head. Eventually, he was found near his home.

Following his release, police conducted raids in Barra de Pojuca, searching several properties. The investigation is ongoing, with police refraining from providing further details at this time.
