Dutch Diver Dies in Super Yacht Bayesian Accident

A Dutch diver tragically died during the salvage operation of the super yacht Bayesian in Italy. The British company TMC Marine, coordinating the salvage, expresses condolences and full cooperation with authorities.

Salvage Operation Halted

The Dutch diver was involved in preparatory work for salvaging the wreck at a depth of approximately 49 meters when rescue attempts by multiple parties were unsuccessful.

Investigation and Autopsy

The investigation, led by the prosecutor Raffaele Cammarano, awaits further decisions following the diver's death. An autopsy is scheduled, along with examinations of the accident site, equipment, and safety measures.

Previous Tragedy and Ongoing Inquiry

The Bayesian had sunk last year, resulting in seven fatalities, including British tech mogul Mike Lynch. Questions surrounding the incident prompted suspicions of foul play, leading to accusations against three crew members.

The hope is that retrieving the yacht from the water will shed light on the causes of the tragedy.
