Driver confesses cause bus accident Peru

lima - The truck driver who is suspected in Peru of being involved in a serious bus accident has known that he drove the bus off the cliff with his truck. No charges have been filed against the man, but a judge ruled that he should remain in custody for nine months, the BBC reports. In the accident, 52 people were killed last week.

A bus touched a road along a cliff on Tuesday and landed upside down on a beach a hundred meters lower at the town of Pasamayo, north of the capital Lima. According to the authorities, the bus was hit by a truck driver, who had lost control of the wheel.

The 40-year-old driver told the police that he indeed hit the bus on the road that is popularly called the 'devil's corner'. The coastal road is known as very dangerous and has been closed for buses by the government.
