Dozens dead in China mine

- At least 38 miners in China died in accidents in two coal mines. Least 21 of them were slain Friday by an explosion in a privémijn in the northeastern city of Qitaihe. One miner is still missing.
Another seventeen miners were killed Saturday in a mine in Mongolia. According to Chinese media are in this my many people adopt. How many miners are involved, is not known.
Mine accidents are common in China, a country that provides for two-thirds of its energy needs through the use of coal. The safety conditions in the mines are known to be poor.
