harderwijk - Spotted with mouse in the Dolfinarium: Friday evening a young dolphin is born. It is for the first time in three years that the carers in the park in Harderwijk can welcome a young person again.

The calf- as a young dolphin is mentioned- is doing well, just like the mother. Whether it's a boy or a girl is not clear yet. This is initially difficult to see for caregivers and so will be clear in the coming days.

Also, the newcomer has no name yet. It is determined by a match. At the park everyone can submit a name suggestion.

At the Dolphinarium they are only happy with the birth of the dolphin, because that is a sign that the animals feel like in the park. 'If they do not play and have fun, no reproduction will take place. We used to have births on a regular basis, but this is the first time in three years, 'says Jurriƫn Wouters, manager of the animal team.

The public can admire the young mammal this weekend. Together with the mother, the calf just swims around.
