Do not travel to North Lombok and Gili Islands

the hague - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague advises people to travel to the Indonesian island of Lombok and the nearby Gili Islands.

Those already in the area are advised by the ministry to follow the instructions of the local authorities. It is also recommended to keep in touch with the airline and to inform the travel organization and family of the situation.

On 5 August, the Indonesian island of Lombok was hit in the north by a heavy 6.9 earthquake on the Richter scale. This involved deaths and injuries. There is also a lot of damage to buildings, houses and roads.

Aftershocks are possible in these areas, Foreign Affairs warns.
