Disneyland Abu Dhabi: A New Theme Park in the Middle East

Disney is set to open its first theme park in the Middle East, specifically in Abu Dhabi, part of the United Arab Emirates. The park will be located on Yas Island, an artificial island about a half-hour from the capital city of the emirate.

Exciting Development on Yas Island

Yas Island is already a popular tourist destination, hosting attractions like Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World, and SeaWorld. It is also known for the Yas Marina Circuit, a Formula 1 racing track.

Expansion Beyond Shanghai Disney Resort

Disneyland Abu Dhabi will be the first new Disney park since the opening of Shanghai Disney Resort in 2016. The park's construction and design process, overseen by Disney's top executive Josh D'Amaro, is expected to take two years, with construction estimated to span five to six years.

Collaboration with Miral Group

The local leisure company Miral Group will own and operate the new theme park in collaboration with Disney. The two entities have been in discussions for eighteen months to finalize the plans for this milestone project.
