england - A man from England who claimed to be partially disabled due to a car accident was caught participating in a tractor-pulling competition, leading to his benefits being revoked.

An Englishman named Scott Maw, who said he had been partially disabled by a car accident, was caught a few weeks after the incident taking part in a tractor-pulling competition.

Maw had sought compensation from the other party, claiming he could no longer use his shoulder and had suffered a whiplash. Simple tasks like grocery shopping allegedly caused unbearable pain.

However, while the claim was being processed, the 36-year-old plasterer managed to pull an 8,000-kilo tractor during a competition. He also moved 170-kilo heavy stones and carried 120-kilo tree trunks. This remarkable achievement earned him the title of Strongest Man of Yorkshire 2023. Taking a picture with the prize was not a wise move, as it led the insurer of the other party to investigate and decide not to pay out. Maw insisted that he was indeed injured, but a medical examiner could find no evidence and rejected the claim.

As a result, Maw lost his benefits and had to cover all legal fees, which had accumulated to 25,000 pounds.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the man who has since retired as the 'Strongest Man' mentioned that he still experiences occasional shoulder pain.
