carcassonne - Researchers have found indications that the man who murdered four people on Friday in the south of France sympathized with Islamic State. During a search in the man's home in Carcassonne, the police thought Saturday was a 'religious testament.'
It would be a rather muddled text with references to the militant terror movement.
The 25-year-old Redouane Lakdim first opened fire on a group of police officers in the historic town of Carcassonne, which wounded an officer. Then he shot a car driver before taking the attendees in a supermarket in nearby Trèbes hostage. There he killed two people while shouting 'Allahu akbar'.
