copenhagen - Denmark tightens the surveillance of the border with Germany. According to German media, there are checkpoints at the five largest transitions, while vehicle registration plates are scanned at all transitions.
The reason for the sharpening is the terrorist threat and especially the fear in Denmark for asylum seekers who have been rejected in Germany and who are planning to move north.
Denmark has already tightened border surveillance several times since January last year when the number of refugees rose sharply. For example, since September, armed soldiers have been monitoring regular border surveillance. The Danish parliament decided on Friday to take it a step further.
