Demonstrators demand stricter US weapons laws after massacre school

parkland - Hundreds of people argued for stricter laws on Saturday that would complicate the purchase of weapons in the United States. The demonstrators also voiced criticism of politicians who, in their view, attach more importance to the freedom to spread weapons than the protection of children.

'Because of these laws people have died who I know well, and people I love shot dead,' said Delaney Tarr. She is a pupil of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where former student Nikolas Cruz shot seventeen people and wounded dozens of people.

At an arms fair that happened to take place this weekend in Dade County, not far from the site of the massacre, visitors had a different opinion. According to most, their rights are protected by the US Constitution and new laws will not lead to a bloodbath like the school being prevented. ''
