Deathwide heat wave Canada is on the rise

World July 6, 2018 14:30

montreal - In a heat wave in Canada, at least 33 people were killed this week. The authorities fear that this number will still run out.

Since June 29 there is a heat wave in Quebec and Ontario. Last week it was over 35 degrees and because of the humidity this could feel like 43 degrees. That is how the NOS reports.

Especially the elderly, single people, people with mental health problems and the chronically ill are at risk. The emergency services receive 1200 calls per day from concerned citizens.

In 2010, 106 people died in and around Montreal during and during a heat wave.

For today, lower temperatures are expected.
