tokyo - The death toll due to the extreme weather in Japan has risen to fifteen. Approximately fifty people are still missing. At least 1.6 million people had to be evacuated. That is what Japanese media report.

The meteorological service of Japan spoke of 'historical' rainfall. The service also warned four prefectures on Honshu, the main island of Japan, for the dangerous weather and urged to be vigilant for landslides, rising river water and strong winds. The service expects even more rain on Sunday.
