Deaths ammunition depot explosions in India

- A fire and explosions in the largest ammunition depot of the Indian Army at least seventeen people were killed Tuesday, Indian media report. Nineteen people were injured and thousands of residents of nearby villages have been evacuated.

The ammunition depot is in Pulgaon at Nagpur, in the western state of Maharashtra. The fire, according to a spokeswoman for the police now under control, reported the television station New Delhi DTV. The cause is still unknown.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi made via Twitter that Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar Tuesday goes to Pulgaon.
