Dead and wounded by avalanche

bern - Three winter sports enthusiasts were killed by a snow avalanche in the Swiss canton of Wallis. Two others were slightly injured and taken to hospital.

The five were surprised by an avalanche at 2450 meters on Saturday, reported Swiss media. This happened between Fiesch and the Fiescheralp ski station.

Other winter sports enthusiasts saw that the group was buried under the snow and alerted the emergency services. Rescue workers flew with a helicopter to the area where the winter sports enthusiasts were surprised by the avalanche.
