'Dalai Lama meets abuse victims'

amsterdam - The Dalai Lama meets Friday in the Netherlands with victims of sexual abuse by Buddhist teachers. In doing so, he responds to the urgent appeal that twelve victims did to him. As far as is known, it is the first time that the Dalai Lama is going to the table with abusive victims. That reports the NOS.

'His Holiness the Dalai Lama was saddened to hear about the sexual abuse that students have suffered by Buddhist teachers,' writes his secretary Tseten Samdup Chhoekyapa in a mail to Dutch victims according to the NOS.

The secretary also writes that the Dalai Lama 'has constantly condemned such irresponsible and unethical behavior. '
