Curfew in Tunisia after violent protests

- Tunisia has a curfew imposed in response to violent protests in the country. In several cities came to clashes between police and protesters demonstrating against the poor economic situation in the country.

It is the largest social unrest since the uprising in the country five years ago that heralded the Arab Spring. The curfew from 20. 00 to 05. 00 hours is for the entire country, the Interior Ministry said Friday.

The protests began over the weekend in the western province of Kasserine but expanded in the last few days and especially in the night from Thursday to Friday off. In the capital Tunis and the cities of Bizerte and Jendouba protesters attacked police posts. In Tunis shops and two banks were sacked.
