In January, there was a significant increase in cruise tourism in Turkey with 32,686 passengers, marking a 63.54% rise from the previous year. Turkey, known as a 'hub of attraction' in cruise tourism, welcomed 23 cruise ships in January. The data from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure for the years 2011-2025 show that Turkey exceeded 30,000 passengers for the first time in January. The year 2024 started with a record-breaking 32,686 passengers arriving on 18 cruise ships.

Passenger Numbers Over the Years

The number of cruise ships and passengers arriving in Turkey in January over the years: In 2023, 12 cruise ships brought 8,740 passengers; in 2022, 4 cruise ships brought 1,433 passengers; in 2015, 11 cruise ships brought 13,243 passengers; in 2014, 5 cruise ships brought 10,876 passengers; in 2013, 7 cruise ships brought 18,221 passengers; in 2012, 1 cruise ship brought 3,159 passengers; in 2011, 8 cruise ships brought 20,712 passengers. There were no cruise arrivals between 2016 and 2021.
