kralendijk/rotterdam - The search for a crocodile swimming around the sea at Bonaire continues as no traces of the reptile have been found yet despite efforts from nature conservationists and experts.

The crocodile that was reported to be swimming near Bonaire has not been sighted yet. Despite search efforts by conservationists and an expert from the Rotterdam Zoo, no sign of the crocodile has been found in the Sorobon bay. Attempts to lure the crocodile with bait have been unsuccessful.

Search operations will continue using drones that can fly over the water. Earlier, a father and son spotted the crocodile near the tourist beach Sorobon and managed to capture footage of the animal.

It is possible that the crocodile is hiding in the mangroves of Bonaire and only emerges at night. The Blijdorp spokesperson believes there is likely only one crocodile involved, estimated to be 2 to 3 meters long. The reptile may have crossed over from Venezuela through calm waters.
