little rock - The Supreme Court of the US state of Arkansas has blocked the execution of a detainee. The 47-year-old Stacey Johnson would be put to death on Thursday.

The court ruled that the court should reconsider the case. It must come with new DNA evidence. Johnson was convicted of murder and rape of a woman in 1993.

Johnson is one of the eight detainees who wants to execute the state of Arkansas in an eleven-day period. The state is in a hurry because the expiry date expires due to the end of this month of a stock of midazolam. Midazolam is needed to bring the prisoner out of consciousness.

Shortly after the court decision, a court ruled that Arkansas could not use one of the two other means used in the execution. According to the supplier, the state has purchased the pancuronium bromide muscle relaxant under false pretenses. The pharmaceutical company McKesson says that the drug would not have been sold to Arkansas if the company had known what it would be used for.
