san jose - Costa Rica to receive 200 migrants awaiting deportation from the United States, including individuals from Central Asia and India.

Costa Rica to Host US Deported Migrants

Costa Rica announces plans to take in 200 migrants awaiting deportation from the United States, including individuals from Central Asia and India. The first flights from the US are expected to arrive in the Central American country on Wednesday. The migrants are set to return to their countries of origin at a later date, with the deportation costs covered by the United States.

Costa Rica becomes the third country in Central America, following Panama and Guatemala, to enter into such an agreement with the United States. Last week, Panama received its first flight with 119 migrants, including individuals from China and Pakistan. Guatemala, on the other hand, has not yet received any migrants under this program.

US President Donald Trump has been taking measures to address migration since taking office, vowing to deport 'millions of migrants' from the US.
