

Contest breaks Twitter record
stockholm - Twitterers have Saturday more than seven million tweets about the Eurovision Song Contest posted. A record, Twitter reported Sunday. Last year, six million tweets were sent and the previous year more than five million.

Twitter also sought how often used the three-letter hashtags for the participating countries. Leader was there #AUS for Australia, followed by #POL (Poland), #RUS (Russia), #FRA (France) and #GBR (Great Britain). The Netherlands is not in the top ten.

The most shared tweet came from the British vlogger Dan Howell, @danisnotonfire. He wrote that he tried to explain the contest to an American trucker, who replied:,, That sounds rather effeminate and terrible ''. That was retweeted by more than 13 000 people.
Also media company BuzzFeed scored on that front. The German branch of BuzzFeed sneered at French sister site on the French entry, to which France replied,, Talk to us when your candidate does not look like a Pokémon. '' Germany had manga girl Jamie-Lee submitted.
