Construction workers encounter a mass grave in Mainz

mainz - In the construction of a firing range in the German city of Mainz, construction workers have found a mass grave with probably more than a thousand skeletons.
The grave dates from the nineteenth century and may contain victims of a typhoid epidemic that erupted after the Battle of Leipzig (1813), more than two hundred years ago.
