- Lie detectors have been around for years, but researchers from the Finnish University of Oulu have now developed a method to do something more reliable. They have learned a computer to extremely small contractions in the face- so-called micro facial expressions- to recognize.

These contractions are involuntary and give a concealed emotion to. For example, a reveal or not you rather talk to someone, or that you even sit to lie. The method is already worldwide by various police and intelligence teams used to find out lies. The problem is that training people in the detection of these traits can be very long. The program of the Finnish researchers is based on camera images, they can also track and then categorize them. The software is not perfect, but can already find with greater accuracy micro- expressions than trained people.
