- A high-ranking officer delegation from the Colombian Air Force is set to visit Turkey to examine the operational capabilities of the Bayraktar TB-3, the world's first UAV capable of taking off and landing on short runways.

Colombian Interest in Bayraktar TB-3

A delegation of senior officers from the Colombian Air Force is scheduled to visit Turkey to gather detailed information on the capabilities of the Bayraktar TB-3. The interest stems from Colombia's desire to enhance its inventory with UAVs possessing sufficient altitude and autonomous features.

Bayraktar TB-3's Unique Capabilities

The Bayraktar TB-3 made history by being the first UAV to take off and land on a short runway on a ship. In tests, it successfully hit targets with ROKETSAN's MAM-T ammunition. The UAV, developed by Baykar, conducted a successful test flight from TCG Anadolu's ramp with a 12-degree incline.

Innovations and Export Agreements

The Bayraktar TB-3 offers significant innovations compared to other UAVs in its class, boasting beyond-line-of-sight communication capabilities. Following an export agreement signed during President Erdogan's visit to Indonesia, the first export of the Bayraktar TB-3 will be to Indonesia.
