Code42 raises consumers back

Tech August 24, 2017 09:39

minneapolis - Code42 has informed private customers of backup CrashPlan that they should be looking for an alternative within a year. The US cloud provider will focus exclusively on the business market.

According to Code42, the wishes of private and business customers vary widely. The company has therefore decided to withdraw completely from the consumer market. Existing customers can continue to use the service for a while, but for new customers the door is immediately closed.

CrashPlan is one of the oldest and highest rated online backup providers. Unlike, for example, Dropbox or OneDrive, CrashPlan is exclusively dedicated to making backups. Dropbox also allows you to save backup, but the service is primarily intended as an online storage location.

Anyone looking for something similar to Crashplan can contact Backblaze or Carbonite.
