rennes, france - Code red warning in three departments in western France due to ongoing heavy rainfall, leading to flooding in Rennes.

Code Red Weather Warning in Western France

Three departments in western France are under a code red weather warning on Tuesday morning due to continuous heavy rainfall. Rennes in the Ille-et-Vilaine department has already experienced flooding in recent days. The code red warning has now been extended to the nearby departments of Morbihan and Loire-Atlantique.

Additionally, four other departments in the western part of the country are under a code orange warning. The warnings are expected to remain in effect until at least Wednesday.

The region has been hit successively by the storms Éowyn and Herminia, causing the most severe flooding in forty years in Rennes. Approximately four hundred residents had to be evacuated.
