The Spanish meteorological service has issued a code red in the province of Almería in Andalusia due to the expected heavy rainfall, hail, and very strong wind gusts. They are urging people not to travel unless absolutely necessary.

Warnings of potential flooding have been issued due to the intense rain. In other parts of the Mediterranean region, a code orange remains in effect.

Spain has already reported at least 205 fatalities as a result of the severe weather, with thousands of people still missing.
