According to news agency Reuters, the mountaineer was found dead in his tent at an altitude of 7400 meters. Sherpas found his body. The cause of death is not yet clear. In an earlier attempt to conquer Mount Everest, the man lost nine fingertips by freezing.

Earlier this weekend, the 63-year-old climber Gjeorgi Petkov from Macedonia was killed. This month relatively many climbers have reached the top due to the good weather. The climbing season runs from March to the end of May.
