buckingham palace - An unofficial Christmas party at Buckingham Palace took a violent turn when a female employee allegedly attacked the manager of a bar in London.

There was no Christmas peace at the unofficial Christmas party held at Buckingham Palace. A Buckingham Palace employee, believed to be a housekeeper, reportedly struck the manager of All Bar One in London and smashed glassware during what is usually a festive event for the British royal family. Buckingham Palace, as reported by The Sun, will conduct an investigation and take "appropriate action" against the female staff member, according to a palace spokesperson.

Police reports indicate that officers were called to All Bar One on Victoria Street, in central London, after 9:00 pm on Tuesday. A female palace employee had lost control, breaking glassware, attacking the manager, and displaying unseemly behavior.

The palace told the BBC, "We are aware of an incident. It is important to emphasize that this incident took place outside of the workplace. However, many Buckingham Palace staff members were present. I would like to stress that it was an informal social gathering and not an official palace Christmas party. Nevertheless, the facts will be thoroughly investigated. Should it be necessary, strict disciplinary action will be taken, and appropriate measures will be implemented against individual staff members."

The suspected housekeeper was arrested on suspicion of assault, vandalism, public drunkenness, and disorderly conduct. She was released after receiving a fine, as confirmed by a Metropolitan Police spokesperson to The Sun.
