london - A nine-year-old British cancer patient has a special way raised money for his own treatment. A drawing made for the boy stabbed a police dog, was reissued as Christmas card. The action was a great success.

That reports BBC. The young patient Alex Goodwin did not initially plan to make money from his drawings German Shepherd Finn, who was stabbed earlier this year when he chased a suspect. The boy took pity and searched via Twitter contact the owner of the dog.

Once over the internet pictures were exchanged, the family was advised to make a Christmas version of one of the drawings that made Alex the dog. That would be money to be collected for the treatment of the boy, who suffers from a rare form of bone cancer.

Selling the plan proved a hit: the Finn card next to a Christmas tree was a huge hit. Within a day was sold out the first batch. The family of Alex does not rule out that there will be a second edition.
