- Arsenal's Chloe Kelly and Aston Villa midfielder Lucy Parker have been called up to the England squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures.

Chloe Kelly and Lucy Parker Join England Squad

Arsenal's Chloe Kelly and Aston Villa midfielder Lucy Parker have been named as replacements in the England squad for the Nations League games, filling in for injured players Beth Mead and Lotte Wubben-Moy. Kelly, who recently moved from Manchester City to Arsenal, was initially left out of the squad due to lack of game time, but her impressive debut for Arsenal earned her a spot. Parker, on the other hand, played a full 90 minutes in Villa's recent match against Leicester City.

Injuries and Replacements

Beth Mead and Lotte Wubben-Moy had to withdraw from the squad due to injuries. Mead, who has been dealing with a calf strain, was an unused substitute in the last game for Arsenal, while Wubben-Moy suffered a muscle injury and required a scan. The additions of Kelly and Parker provide depth to the England squad ahead of the Nations League fixtures.

Upcoming Matches

The Lionesses squad, consisting of 24 players, will gather at St George's Park before heading to the Algarve to play against Portugal in the opening Nations League game. They will then face Spain in a highly anticipated rematch of the 2023 World Cup final at Wembley on Feb 26.
