Chinese space station will soon be over

World February 7, 2018 12:09

darmstadt - The end is approaching for the first space station in China. Heavenly Palace 1, as the building is called, will perish in the atmosphere in a few weeks. The European space agency ESA estimates that it will take place between 25 March and 17 April.

It can not be predicted when exactly it will happen and above which part of the world the downfall will be. In any case, the Netherlands does not have to worry. The space station does not exceed 43 degrees north latitude (where Spain is located for example) and not 43 degrees south latitude (New Zealand). The majority of the space station will burn in the atmosphere. A few fragments can survive and crash on earth.

Heavenly Palace 1 weighs 8.5 tons. The complex was launched in 2011 and was used for manned and unmanned missions.
