- China reaffirms backing for independent Palestinian state and two-state solution amid Trump's proposal to take over Gaza and relocate Palestinians.

China Stands Firm on Supporting Palestinian State

China's Foreign Ministry reiterated its support for the Palestinian people and their right to an independent state in response to US President Donald Trump's controversial plan to take over Gaza and relocate Palestinians. During a meeting with Arab diplomats in Beijing, Deputy Foreign Minister Qin Xiaodong emphasized that Gaza belongs to Palestinians and is an integral part of Palestinian territories. Qin highlighted China's backing of the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people and the authority of the Palestinian National Authority over all Palestinian lands, including Gaza and the West Bank. He underscored the importance of respecting the will of the Palestinian people in any future arrangements for Gaza and stressed that post-war governance plans for Gaza should adhere to the principle of 'Palestinians governing Palestine.' Qin pointed out that an early and fair solution to the Palestinian issue can only be achieved through a two-state resolution, supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem, based on the 1967 borders. The Arab diplomats expressed their appreciation for China's fair and consistent approach to the Palestinian issue and called on China to continue playing a constructive role in upholding international justice and preserving the legitimate national rights of Palestine.
