Chelsea Signs Sporting Pair Quenda, Essugo in $81M Deal

Chelsea has agreed to sign Sporting Lisbon's Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo in a deal worth up to €74.4 million ($81.15 million).

Details of the Deal:

  • Chelsea to pay up to €52 million for 17-year-old winger Quenda.
  • Quenda to join Chelsea in 2026.
  • Essugo, 20, to join Chelsea in the summer for €22.2 million.
  • Essugo currently on loan with LaLiga club Las Palmas.

Quenda attracted interest from Manchester United after being coached by Ruben Amorim at Sporting. Essugo made his professional debut at 16 for Sporting in 2021.

Portugal's Nations League squad includes Quenda for upcoming quarterfinal matches with Denmark.
