- Chelsea may have to pay Manchester United £5 million to send Jadon Sancho back, with details on loan conditions and potential transfer.

Chelsea's Potential £5M Fee for Jadon Sancho

Chelsea might have to pay Manchester United a fee of £5 million if they back out of the deal to sign Jadon Sancho permanently this summer, a source has revealed to ESPN.

Loan Conditions and Potential Transfer

  • Sancho is currently on loan at Stamford Bridge.
  • Chelsea have an obligation to make the move permanent for £25 million if they finish higher than 14th in the Premier League.
  • There's a clause allowing Chelsea to send Sancho back to Old Trafford by paying a £5 million penalty.

Sources close to Chelsea downplay the possibility of Sancho returning to United, while sources at United are reportedly relaxed about the situation.

Sancho has had limited playing time this season, scoring twice in 28 appearances and hasn't scored since December's win over Tottenham.

Loan Status of Other Players

  • Antony and Marcus Rashford are on loan at Real Betis and Aston Villa, respectively.
  • Head coach Ruben Amorim will decide Sancho's future if he returns, with a permanent exit in the summer being the most likely scenario.

Information from ESPN's James Olley contributed to this report.
