World October 7, 2018 16:00

toulon - Two cargo ships collided with each other on the Mediterranean near Corsica.

The collision caused a crack of several meters in the hull of the Cypriot container ship CLS Virginia, according to the French maritime prefecture of Toulon. The Tunisian ro-ro ship Ulysse sailed against the container ship, which was anchored.

Neither vessel reported victims. A French navy helicopter has brought a team of specialists to the scene of the accident. The French also sent a tugboat and a naval ship that is equipped to fight pollution of the sea. Whether that is the case is still unclear.
