- The plan to allow die assistance to elderly people who feel that their life is finished, requires very careful consideration. That Prime Minister Mark Rutte said Friday. He speaks of a 'very sensitive' issue.
'This is something that really requires a long-term debate,' said Rutte. 'This is also going on in society. This is a discussion that example in my party has been playing a long time. '
Rutte is not to say how soon he expects that it can come to a law. 'I do not link this to necessarily have the remaining five months of this coalition,' said the Prime Minister.
The government intends to adopt a new law in consultation with various organizations in order to allow the die relief. Elderly people who feel that their life is completed, should be able to receive aid under strict conditions if they want to end their lives.
