Cameraman Van Hoytema seizes next to Oscar

los angeles - The Dutch cameraman Hoyte van Hoytema has seized an Oscar.

For his camera work in the film Dunkirk, Van Hoytema was nominated in the cinematography category. The 46-year old Van Hoytema, however, had to watch how the Briton Roger Deakins was announced as the winner for his camera work in the film Blade Runner 2049.

For Deakins it was his fourteenth Oscar nomination. The 68-year-old cameraman has never won the coveted film award.

It was the first time that a Dutchman in the category cinematography had a chance to win an Oscar statue.
