
Bus full of sand at high tide
- China is striking measures to cope with the ever rising water in Hebei Province. To prevent a dike breach, dumped the authorities two buses loaded with sandbags in the water.
A dike was at the megacity Xingtai to break and therefore drastic measures had to be taken. With the launching of the buses to the strong current was interrupted. Then loose sand bags were thrown into the water to strengthen the dike.
The persistent rain caused major problems in China. There are already dozens of people killed and more than 16 million people had to flee their homes. Dozens of people are still missing.
