peru, ancash region, mariscal luzuriaga - A bus carrying around 40 passengers fell into a river in Peru, resulting in at least 6 fatalities, 32 injuries, and 6 individuals still missing.

In a tragic incident in Peru, a bus en route from Lima to Pomabamba plummeted 150 meters into a river, claiming the lives of at least 6 individuals. The regional health authority of Ancash confirmed the casualties and reported 32 injuries, with 6 passengers still missing.

Search operations are underway to locate the missing individuals, while the cause of the accident remains unknown. The bus, operated by Conchucos Express, split into two as it tumbled down the slope before ending up in the river in the province of Mariscal Luzuriaga, Ancash region.

Peru frequently witnesses such tragic incidents, often attributed to factors like overspeeding, poor road conditions, and inadequate signage and checks.
