london, uk - A brother takes legal action against his sister who manipulated their demented mother into signing a new will to claim the entire 840,000 euro inheritance.

Brother Challenges Sister's Inheritance

A woman seizes her mother's entire estate by coercing her to sign a new will on her deathbed, sparking a legal battle with her brother. The video evidence, meant to support her claim, backfires in court.

John Baverstock was shocked to discover his 76-year-old mother, Margaret, left him nothing upon her death in 2021. His astonishment turned to dismay upon finding a new will signed by his mother just eight days before her passing.

Despite Margaret's incapacitated state due to dementia and severe arthritis, Lisa, aged 55, managed to secure the entire inheritance, including a London property.

Anticipating a dispute, Lisa recorded the signing on video with an independent witness present. However, the court ruled that Margaret, who was unable to comprehend her surroundings, let alone her own name, was not in a sound mental state to make such decisions.

Lisa, a former bus driver, had been living with Margaret, providing care and assuming she would inherit everything. Meanwhile, their strained relationship led John to feel alienated and eventually barred from the house by Lisa, who feared he would sell the property while their mother was still alive.

The court ultimately awarded Lisa 420,000 euros from the estate, deducting 90,000 euros for legal expenses, ruling in favor of a fair distribution.
