- Mourad Laachraoui, the brother of one of the bombers in Brussels became European champion taekwondo and has thus qualified for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Mourad (21) won gold at the European Championships in Montreux, Switzerland, in the weight category below 54 kg. The Flemish Taekwondo Federation named him in a tweet Europe's king of the lightweight.

His elder brother Najim (24) was one of the terrorists who blew himself up at Zaventem Airport on March 22 this year. The attacks on that day, a total of 32 people dead. In a press conference shortly after those attacks Mourad said his brother was a nice, intelligent boy who showed no signs of radicalism before he left for Syria in 2013 and severed all ties with his family.
