British Film Institute deprives Harvey Weinstein of membership

- Harvey Weinstein has lost his membership of the British Film Institute (BFI). The organization honored the American producer with this highest personal award in 2002 because of his merits for the development of film and television.

The BFI took the decision to expel Weinstein for the series of accusation and sexual harassment and abuse. The once-so-powerful Hollywood boss denies the suspicions and says that all the relationships he had were mutually beneficial.

'Membership is the most important tribute we can give. The serious and widespread allegations due to Harvey Weinstein's disturbing behavior are in line with our values, 'the BFI told the BBC on Thursday.
