rio de janeiro - Some 147 million Brazilian voters may decide on Sunday who will lead the country in the coming years. The conservative populist Jair Bolsonaro takes the lead in the polls. His followers see him as an outsider who can go through a corrupt system with the broom.

Former soldier Bolsonaro earlier won the first round of the presidential election. He takes on Sunday against the former mayor of São Paulo, Fernando Haddad of the left Labor Party (PT). His party had actually wanted the popular former president Lula da Silva as presidential candidate, but judges stuck to it. Lula is in jail because of a corruption judgment.
