Brabant agrees with measures for livestock farmers

World July 7, 2017 23:45

the bosch - Brabant has agreed on Saturday and Friday on controversial and profound plans to reduce the damage and nuisance caused by intensive livestock farming.

Provincial States confirmed that aging stockpiles accelerated by 2022 should meet stricter requirements to reduce ammonia, particulate matter and stench emissions. In addition, due to health risks, a temporary stop on the construction or expansion of goat stables will be immediately taken.

The Brabant plans are controversial because farmers fear that they will have to make expensive investments within a few years, keep less profit and possibly lose weight. Many hundreds of companies are threatening to disappear. Farmers' organizations have already announced a lawsuit and claims for damages.
